PRE - PERFORMANCE TROUPE
A Performing Development Program
For adult circus students who are dreaming to perform professionally! If you’ve fallen in love with circus and would love to work your way up to performing in professional shows and events - THIS is the troupe for you!
Combining Kinetica’s expert classes, independent training, and specialty Pre-Professional workshops, this Troupe connects training together with public performance opportunities, along with support in class by one of Perth’s most in demand performers - Matthew Pope.
The programming for the Pre-Professional Troupe is based on the training regime used by Kinetica’s own highly sought after performers, focussing on aspects of circus training that will:
● Facilitate the leap between training skills and perfecting skills with performance quality;
● Give students the tools they need to turn their acts into polished performances;
● Give students experience in performing to the general public;
● Encourage students to find their own style and performance persona;
● Help students develop marketable skills suitable to the Perth performance scene.
This program is not a substitute for skill-based learning. Those in this program should also be attending classes to uphold an advanced skill level and frequent training.
DETAILS
Semester 1 2025 runs from Monday 17th February to Sunday 6th July - a 20 week program.
The Pre-Professional Troupe semester program includes:
Unlimited Membership to Adult Classes and Open Training (17/2/25 to 17/7/25)
An exclusive 2 hour class each week, 6 to 8pm on Fridays
Two additional masterclass workshops over the semester, scheduling based on majority availability
COST
The 20 week semester cost for the Pre-Professional Troupe program is $2200; to be paid in monthly instalments of $440 by the 15th of each month - with the first payment transferred by February 10th.
There will be a compulsory uniform t-shirt for the troupe, this is still being organised however we estimate the cost of this to be between $30 and $45.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the Pre-Professional Troupe you need to currently train circus at an Intermediate to Advanced level (if you currently attend Intermediate classes at Kinetica then this skill level is suitable) and have a goal to perform professionally.
It is highly recommended that you train in multiple facets of circus - specialising in on apparatus is amazing, but it is always good to have other skills in the works, even at lower levels.
Places in the Pre-Professional Troupe are extremely limited, with only 8 spots available to students, and is a minimum one semester commitment with the option of staying the full year in the Troupe.
In week 15 of your first semester, you will be given the option to remain in the troupe for semester 2, and must confirm your semester 2 commitment at that time.
Being a professional performer requires a strong commitment in both time and effort, a willingness to prioritise your personal training, and to work within a team. Consequently this Troupe might not be for everyone.
We understand that being an adult student means juggling your circus training with life commitments, and expect every student’s training schedule to be organised to suit, however there is an expectation that those within the Pre-Professional Troupe are dedicated to giving troupe time a high priority in their life.
Please note: This program does not grant exclusive access to staff. Coaches of Pre-Performance Troupe will be able to help and answer questions during business hours - in class, via email or phone.
